The Irish Content Marketing Awards 2020 has announced the finalists of this year’s awards. 1 Plus Events are delighted to be shortlisted in three categories: Best Content Marketing Award – Retail Consumer, Most Effective Use of Photography, and Content Marketing Rising Star.

This is the 3rd annual ceremony of the ICMA. It is a nationwide programme to recognise achievements in pivoting content marketing to drive business and organisational success.

Multi-channel Marketing in Retail Industry

With more than 20 year’s experiences as an event company in Dublin, we have organised many retail event and marketing campaigns across the country. Our recent rebranding campaign of Gateway Shopping Park Knocknacarra is nominated for Best Content Marketing Award – Retail Consumer.

Gateway Shopping Park was launching an expansion campaign. Our objective was to rebrand it as a cultural and social hub – a place that represented Knocknacara and Galway as a whole. Started with visual designs, we pushed out the brand image through various media channels with different content. For example, a neutral tone of voice on local press and radio, a magazine-like poster for leafdrops, and an electrifying video ad on social media. To further build a stronger relationship with the community, an artwork competition was launched at the same time, looking for a local artist to partner with.

Our Managing Director, Shea McNelis said,

“It was a fantastic opportunity getting involved with Ireland’s largest retail development in the last 10 years, community is what this project was all about and the simple changing of Gateway Retail Park to Gateway Shopping Park Knocknacarra put more of an identity for the Park. The launch was delayed due to the pandemic but all the dates have been rescheduled now. We are looking forward to the opening of the new additions to the park in Q4 of 2020 and Q1 of 2021.”

By leveraging content marketing discipline and targeting the right audience, our message reached to more than 73k social media users and 20k homes via leafdrop.

Content Creation in Event Production

Retail marketing is one of our main focuses. Working closely with some of the premier premises in Ireland, we’re able to manage events with full support from our retail partners. Shortlisted for Most Effective Use of Photography, our favourite work, the romantic Dog Date, was a pawfect example showing our creativity in content marketing.

To advertise Valentine’s Day promo, we came up with this creative event idea – portrait shots by professional photographer. We provided food, decorated the pet store with romantic elements, and took pictures of dogs and family professionally for free. The pet store then offered special discounts on the day. As a result, we successfully created a favourable shopping experience and valuable content. In return, customers were happy to purchase merchandise from the retailer. This is an all-win scenario and a truly effective use of photography.

Good Content Comes from Analysing Data (and Reading Memes)

Our Data Analyst, Tzu-hung Liu, is among the finalists of Content Marketing Rising Star. We’re proud of his nomination.

He shares his unique approach when creating content.

“Study data. Find the best pattern and repeat. And read memes – seriously, read often.”

A good piece of content is not only about good design. By understanding the meaning behind data, it helps to know more about the target audience and the right context to (re)create. Check out Liu’s latest blog post about how to generate marketing insights from Facebook Exported Data.

We appreciate the recognition of our hard work, and we want to say congratulations to all the brilliant projects and individuals shortlisted in the ICMA!
